Greeting to Jamul Residents. I writing again to inform you as to the status of the new district offices and station 66. In the last edition of the shopper I gave you some basic information regarding the need for a new facility. We are now in the preliminary buidling stages; as we have hired a contractor and are in the county permitting process. We have also commissioned a phone poll to gage public sentiments for a new benefit assessment district to fund  construction and maintenance of the new station 66. In March of this year the fire district will be distributing direct mail ballots to the property owners in the Jamul and Deerhorn Valley community service zones, as the these areas are directly served by station 66. The District will be asking property oweners for a $120.00/ year special assessment to fund the $3 million dollars needed for the construction of the facility and also for the future maintenance cost. The benefit assessment fee will sunset after 30 years. On the next page you find drawings exhibiting the new facility design.
